There have been some problems that people are running into when installing their new compatible toner and remanufactured toner. I want to address some of these issues, but first I have listed the step by step instructions to installing your Dell 3000cn toner.
These instructions are specifically for replacement toner, so if you have followed the instructions from your printer manual it may be the problem and you can proceed to the bottom of this page for troubleshooting.
1) Press Menu on your printer
2) Then press arrow down until Replacement Toner appears and press arrow right (->) or enter button.
3) Press up/down until the desired toner to replace appears and press enter.
4) Open printer door, the empty cartridge has moved to the front of the printer.
5) Now push up on the handhold on the right to unlock the cartridge.
6) Hold the toner firmly on both ends and remove. Just be careful the inside of the printer might be hot.
7) Gently shake your 3000CN toner, this will distribute the toner.
Lift tab and pull the toner seal straight off. Now insert the cartridge with the label facing toward you, be sure to align the arrows on the arrows on the printer and press into place.
9) Close the printer door and you are ready to begin printing.
If after you complete the installation of your Dell 3000CN toner, and run into a problem with the printer telling you that you need to replace the toner cartridge there are two different things that you can try. First I would suggest that you turn off the printer for 3 to 5 minutes, and then turn it on again. When the printer loads fully you will need to remove the cartridge from the printer, and shake it again. After you give it a good shaking you will proceed to install it again the same way as you did before. If this does not resolve the issue then you will need to enable the “non-dell toner” option. To do this you will need to hit the Menu button located on the printer, and then select Configure, select Maintenance, select Non-Dell Toner, and select On for Non-Dell Toner. This should resolve this issue.
There may be other technical issue that may need troubleshooting, but these seem to be the most common for Dell 3000cn toner that you purchase refilled, refill yourself or buy compatible toner.
